The Digital Field Trip to The Desert will work best on the Mac under the following conditions:
The Digital Field Trip to The Desert can receive updates directly from the internet.
To ensure that you have the latest updates, make sure you have an active internet connection. Then, from within the application, select Preferences from the Toolbar in the upper left corner. Next, click on Internet update, then on Synchronize. Updates, if any, will be downloaded automatically and placed in your System folder:Preferences:cache-cache:The Desert. The next time you run The Digital Field Trip to The Desert, the updates will be incorporated at runtime.
The Digital Field Trip to The Desert does not ship with a license to run on a network. A network license must be purchased from Digital Frog International or one of our distributors.

Anti-aliasing
The Digital Field Trip to The Desert uses system services to smooth fonts
on the screen. These services are only available in Mac OS 8.5 and later.
If you are running System 8.1, fonts will appear jagged and some text
may run over the text box. If you are using System 8.5 or later and fonts
appear jagged, go to Appearances in the Control panel, click on
the Fonts tab, then click Smooth all fonts on screen and decrease
the font size to 12.
Video
If the videos and animations are slow and/or appear choppy, you can change
your preferences to run the videos in a smaller window. To do this: select Preferences from
the toolbar and uncheck the Play movies at double size box.
Running the program in OS X
The Digital Field Trip to The Desert will run in OS X in the Classic environment.
Some users may occasionally experience a memory error associated with
sound files when first running the program. Quitting out of the program
and re-running it will usually correct this problem.
If you do not wish to run in Classic mode you can upgrade to The Digital Field Trip to The Desert 1.2a for only 35% of List with proof of purchase. Contact us at sales@digitalfrog.com for help.

The Digital Field Trip to The Desert was designed to run at a screen resolution
of 640 x 480. To use the program full-screen, you may need to change the
screen resolution. With OS 9 or earlier, this can be done in the "Monitors" control
panel. In OS X, go to the "Displays" control in the System Preferences,
which can be found in the Apple menu.
